We're really excited to announce that you can now enjoy exfm from right inside of Winamp.
Exfm is a social music discovery platform that turns the entire web into your personal music library. As you browse the web, exfm gathers every MP3 file you come across, building a music library for you. Exfm makes it incredibly simple to share your favorite music with all your friends.
Exfm in Winamp is the great way to discover new music. You can see what's hot on the Trending page (a collection of the top songs Loved by exfm users) and search for anything you want to hear. When you come across a song you love, click the heart icon to quickly Love it and stash it away for future listening.
Exfm for Winamp brings all the features of exfm (trending, search, loving) to Winamp. The web service is fully integrated with the PC desktop version of the Winamp Media Player including the player controls, management, and the play queue. You can even save tracks that you discover with exfm to your Winamp playlists. Go ahead and try it, we know you'll love it.
Thanks to the exfm team for bringing their music discovery platform to Winamp!

The
new Pro Bundle gives you a bunch of new features including a 10-band
equalizer, the ability to browse your music collection by folders,
support for FLAC and a bunch of other features.
This post is a quick tutorial on how to customize your Winamp Home screen. It offers a few quick tips on how to rearrange your home screen layout, how to add buttons for your favorite SHOUTcast stations & playlists, and how to restore your default settings.
Step 1
Download the latest version of the Winamp for Android. And if you haven't already you'll need to upgrade to the Pro Bundle via an in-app purchase.
Step 2:
From Winamp's home screen, you will need to select the Menu button and tap on "Customize Home".
Step 3
In this screen, you'll see a list of all of your button options - including any playlists you've created and any SHOUTcast stations that you have marked as a "Favorite". Any buttons in the black area will display on your home screen. Buttons in the grey area will not be on the home screen.
The buttons not visible on the home screen are still available. To access them, go to the home screen, click the Menu button and then select "More".
NOTE: If you've not selected any SHOUTcast stations as a favorite, you won't see them in the customize home screen list. You'll first need to go to SHOUTcast, play a station and from the "Now Playing" screen tap on the screen to reveal more options and tap on the Star icon to "Favorite" that station. Once it's a favorite, it will automatically become available in the customize home screen view.
Step 4
To change the position of any button on the home screen, hold the grip on the left of the button name and drag to the desired position. Once you are finished adjusting the button positions, click on the Winamp lightening bolt (or hit the back button) and your changes will be saved.
Step 5 (optional)
If your Playlist or SHOUTcast station name is too long, you have the option to edit the name. From the Customize Home view, long hold on the Playlist or Station name to edit.
Step 6 (optional)
If you want to restore the default Home screen, from the Customize Home view, select the menu button and then tap on "Restore Default Layout".

First of all thanks to all of the users who have provided us constructive feedback on our release last week and have helped us improve the product as there are a few bugs on specific user hardware – OS combinations. The Winamp team has been working round the clock to put out patches as quickly as we can to address these reported issues. This is our third patch in less than a week since the release. This latest patch solves many of the reported playback and force closures.
This was a very ambitious release for the Winamp team, we introduced the most number of features of any previous releases. The greatest thing about the Android platform is that it is so open and customizable; the most challenging thing about the Android platform is that it is so open and customizable. We are working hard to resolve these challenges quickly.
Resolved Issues:
Winamp 1.2.3 - Monday, October 31st
* Stuttering playback on some models from: LG, Samsung, HTC, & Sony Ericsson
* Widget player stability
* Memory optimizations for album art display
* M4A playback on Android 2.1 OS
* SHOUTcast search & tune-in failures
Winamp 1.2.2 - Friday, October 28th
* Fix for track advance (skipping) issue
Winamp 1.2.1 - Thursday, October 27th
* Fix for playback not engaging after upgrade
We will continue to respond quickly and offer dot releases until all major issues have been solved. In fact, another dot release is in the works. However, if this latest patch does not address your particular need, you can download our previous Android Market version - Winamp for Android 1.1.1 (see instructions below) so that you are no longer inconvenienced while we continue to harden this release. If you are still having an issue, we do encourage you to tell us about it. You can send us feedback from the app under Settings or send us a direct mail at feedback@lists.winamp.com.
Winamp historically has been a product made stronger by it's community, we build these applications for you and prioritize the features for you. We are doing the same now as we work out the kinks of this latest set of releases (remember we did launch on the Mac at the same time). We are committed to making Winamp better and available in more places. Please keep the feedback coming and we will continue to respond as our top priority, always.
Instructions to side-load the Winamp for Android 1.1.1 APK:
1) From your device's home screen, tap on the Menu button (hard button).
2) Select Settings.
3) Select Applications.

The
Pro Bundle is available as an in-app purchase from the free version of
Winamp for Android, so you won't see it as a separate download in the
Android Market. It adds a boat load of premium features to the free
Winamp app. These include an EQ, Customizable Home Screen, Gapless
playback, crossfading between track, additional SHOUTcast features...
and more.
We plan on adding even more features to the Pro Bundle in the future, but for a full list of current features, read the v1.2 release announcement.
Step 1
If you haven't already download the free Winamp for Android app (version 1.2 or higher required), download it from the Android Market.
Step 2
From the free app's home screen click on the EQ button. Alternatively select "Go Pro" from the settings screen.
Steps 3 & 4
Click "Upgrade to Pro" from the promotional screen and you'll be taken to the in-app purchase screen. From there select your payment method and then click "Accept and buy"
Step 5
After the transaction is complete, you'll get the following pop-up message "Thank you. Your item will appear shortly." Other visual cues will be that the "Pro" banner on the EQ button removed and the app's title bar will now say "Winamp Pro".
At this point, you'll now have access to the Winamp for Android Pro Bundle of features. For a full list of current features, check out the release announcement.

There
has been a lot of great feedback about the Winamp for Android Pro
Bundle. Please keep the feedback coming. It has helped us identify some
issues that we will be working very hard over the next few days to
resolve.
In particular, there have been reports of users having playback issues on some devices after upgrading from the previous version to the 1.2 upgrade. There is a planned dot release that will be available shortly that addresses this issue. In the meantime, you can follow the below steps for an immediate work around.
The Issue:
After upgrading to the 1.2 release, when a user selects a song or hits the play button, playback does not engage. To solve the issue (prior to the dot release) you will need to perform a clean install of the app by uninstalling and then reinstalling from the Android Market.
To uninstall:
1) Go to your phone's home screen
2) Tap the menu button (hard button)
3) Select Manage Applications
4) Select the "Downloaded" tab
5) Locate & select Winamp from the list of downloaded apps
6) Select "Uninstall"
Once you reinstall the app from the Android Market, open Winamp and the playback functionality will work normally again.
Note: If you have purchased the Pro Bundle, you will not be required to repurchase. Although you may have to walk through the upgrade process a second time, you will not be charged.
Thanks again for your feedback and patience.
